In 1876 he came from the East Coast to start raising cattle, and Walter Vail thus began a legacy that lives on today at the historic Empire Ranch in Sonoita. The 143-year history of the Empire Ranch is traced through its ownership by the Vail and Boice families, two private companies, and a government agency. The role of the Empire Ranch Foundation in preserving the historic ranch buildings and keeping the story of this special place alive will be described.

Ryanhood
Folk, Rock
Saturday, September 14
7:00pm @ Studio 128

Tucson musical group Ryanhood will perform live in Willcox, kicking off our 2019-20 Guest Artist Season. Cameron Hood’s rich and folky lead vocals pair with Ryan Green’s explosive guitar and mandolin riffs for airtight vocal harmonies. Ryanhood’s signature two-part vocal harmonies, decorated with flares of guitar, ukulele, and mandolin, centers on songs about being young, growing old, and making peace with the passing of time. Coming to Willcox from their hometown of Tucson, AZ, they have won more than a dozen Tucson Music Awards including “Best Folk Band” and “Best Rock Band."
